My Story

I am formerly a higher education administrator (for over 10 years), who moved up progressively from entry level to senior level in what felt like a blink of an eye. I have worked at small and mid-size private schools, as well as a small public university. I have managed departments of over 55 people, facilitated over 100 trainings and workshops, and directly supervised over 100 amazing people in my entire professional career. My academic pursuits include earning a liberal arts degree in English, communication, and secondary education, as well as a Master of Science in organizational leadership, performance, and technology. I consider myself to be a scholarly practitioner and recently graduated from Drexel University with a doctorate of education (Ed.D).

Even though I had over fifteen years of experience in higher education administration and had the privilege of developing meaningful relationships with students and colleagues, and serving as an advocate for underserved populations, I felt like something was missing. My sense of fulfillment was only being partially met in my pursuit to reshape the hearts and minds of college students. That feeling of disconnect was intensely magnified by the global pandemic when I had to work from home. No friends, no colleagues, no students, not even a dog to maintain physical interaction. As my employment situation became more constraining, I decided that it was time for me to take a different path and re-imagine my life outside of higher education. Once I took a step back, I realized my true passion for developing others personally and professionally.

Today, I am in awe of the series of serendipitous occurrences that lead me to fulfilling my dream of establishing Vonni Coaching & Consulting, LLC.

My Company

I've been dreaming of my company since junior high school...

When I was in junior high school, I started to get into fashion and drew several dresses and other outfits for my clothing line, Vonni 14. Although my high school prom dress was the only item that became a reality, the name Vonni has always stuck with me. Fast forward 100 years later, I am using the skills, knowledge, and experiences throughout my personal and professional life to help others. I LOVE problem solving and exploring new things, so it seemed natural to follow this passion.

I consider myself to be a mindful leader and pioneer, who uses my connections and intuition to explore and educate because at my core uncovering hidden knowledge and galvanizing transformation is a form of creative expression. My life's path is to guide, inspire, and uplift the world.
